The city of Takaoka is a city well-known for its history of copperware production that dates back 400 years. The Kabuto helmets forged in this region especially, are handmade from scratch by craftsmen whose skills were handed down through generations. Along with a range of materials of the finest quality, these helmets are forged with the utmost passion to ensure its beauty can be enjoyed both visually and when touched.


Lord Naoe Kanetsugu (1560-1619)

While he was a retainer of the Uesugi family, Naoe Kanetsugu was praised even by Hideyoshi for his quick wits and vast knowledge, making him an asset of the Uesugi family. Naoe Kanetsugu was most well-known for his feat of sending a letter of defiance called the 'Naoe Letter' to Tokugawa Ieyasu which was unheard of during those times. The maedate of his helmet is shaped like the word 'Ai' which was said to derive from 'Aizen Myouou', a Japanese kami and beautiful Zuiun clouds for decoration.

Delivery Time:
