The city of Takaoka is a city well-known for its history of copperware production that dates back 400 years. The Kabuto helmets forged in this region especially, are handmade from scratch by craftsmen whose skills were handed down through generations. Along with a range of materials of the finest quality, these helmets are forged with the utmost passion to ensure its beauty can be enjoyed both visually and when touched.

History

Lord Takeda Shingen (1521-1573)

Shingen Takeda; also known as the 'Tiger of Kai' was a famous and also possibly the strongest warrior of the Sengoku Period. His symbolic helmet, fashioned with fur and a maedate complete with a lion on it, was made in the image of those beasts as a symbol of his fierceness. He has had numerous encounters with his rival Uesugi Kenshin on the battlefield and while their battles are long over, it is still talked about even until today as an example of friendly rivarly.
